As with all computer models at all the times, the manufacturers have a certain idea of how their product should be used. Demos certainly don't comply with any such strategy. They exist for whatever reason: propaganda, hype, or just plain fun. For the IIGS, many of them may have made the user wonder: "my GS can do that?!"

Viewing tips

All demos have their own operating system, so you can set the boot slot of the GS to 5, insert a disk and reboot. Some demos run only under GS/OS, which you can download from here. In general, it is best to have a Rom 1 GS available, since some of the demos don't work with a Rom 3 machine. If you happen to own a real IIGS, use our Asimov utility to transfer the disk image files to 3.5" disks.
